If you’re one of those warped people that think the new Porsche 911 Carrera S needs more power – no, no, don’t turn away, you know who you are – well your prayers have been answered.

Porsche Exclusive now offers a ‘power enhancement kit’ which boosts the power from 400bhp to 430bhp. The Powerkit gives the Carrera S Coupe a 0-100kph time of 4 seconds dead with PDK in Sports Plus and top speed goes up to 306kph with PDK and 308kph with the rare seven-speed manual.

Despite this, Porsche claims the fuel economy stays the same, though if you’re spending the extra dirhams for this kit, fuel costs are probably not a major concern for you.

And if you’re thinking all this is achieved by merely tweaking the engine management system, well you’d only be partly right. The Powerkit includes special cylinder heads with different camshafts and an entirely new variable resonance intake system design with six air flaps and a resonance flap – whatever that does.

An additional centre radiator keeps things cool for the extra horses and low exhaust back pressure is achieved by a sport exhaust system that is equipped with two sets of twin tailpipes with unique styling.

The Powerkit has to come with the Sport Chrono package with its clever engine mounts and you can identify the Powerkit-equipped cars by opening the engine compartment and clocking the titanium coloured engine cover and carbon inlays.

Other options include a low front spoiler with bigger air intakes and a ‘ducktail’ style rear spoiler. Opt for the Aerokit and you get an additional fixed rear wing over the rear spoiler – because you can never have too many wings!

How much is this lot? I don’t know, go hassle your local dealer. Won’t be cheap though. If I had to have a 911, I’d stick with the regular flavour.

  1. This does sound like an amazing kit for an amazing car but is it worth the money? Will you really notice that much of a difference after dropping all the cash on it?

It says: “West Coast BadAss”, all over it!!

The power kit can get you closer to exceptional speed for a factory car.
99% of the Carrera owners I know and have observed on the freeways and highways of Southern California would be wasting their money on the Power Kit. Most of these people never rumn their Carrera’s above 110 mph-no less reaching 180 to 195 mph. But, people do live in the fantasy of having “speed capability”.

Note:most Carrera drivers do not have the skills to drive at 95 mph on our freeways and highways in a safe and sane way. The basic Carrera is over kill for most drivers-if they are seeking speed.

I think it is way to much money for the 30 HP gain.
    The kit is about $12,900.00 + 60 hours of labor @ $145.00
The estimate is about $ 20,000.00
There are some other kits out there for $6000.00 that can get you the almost the same.
