McLaren Qualifies for Pre-Owned Club
McLaren joins growing list of luxury carmakers with used-approved schemes

McLaren has launched its ‘Qualified’ Program in the UAE today, a joint initiative to provide certified used-approved MP4-12Cs and 12C Spiders via its retail partner, Al Habtoor Motors. Cars certified and sold under the scheme will be fully upgraded to 2013 spec, a useful boost up to 625bhp for older cars.
The cars will be on sale at McLaren’s existing locations in Downtown Dubai and in Khalidiya in Abu Dhabi, eventually rolling out to all regional retailers by the close of the year. In addition to the free power hike, owners can also apply the full range of McLaren-approved accessories to their pre-owned cars, or ‘Special Operations’ in McLaren-speak. These include special alloys, carbonfibre trim – virtually any other bespoke request can honoured, claim McLaren, which will also offer a two-year warranty on all cars sold through the programme.
McLaren’s returning Automotive Regional Director for the Middle East & Africa, Ian Gorsuch said: “The launch of McLaren Qualified in the UAE is a major milestone for McLaren Automotive in the Middle East and Africa, it will give the public greater access to McLaren 12C and 12C Spider ownership.
“Management and tight control of pre-owned vehicles is key to maintaining the exclusivity, customer experience and high residual values of each McLaren. This is something that is important to us and, more crucially, our customers. McLaren Qualified gives buyers the confidence that every pre-owned 12C or 12C Spider sold through the program has gone through every check possible and is being sold to McLaren standards,” he added.
