Yesterday saw the launch of the latest edition of the flagship SUV form Toyota’s luxury wing – the 2016 Lexus LX570. Watch our quick video walkaround of the new LX by clicking below now.

The Lexus ‘spindle’ grille was first introduced to the big LX in 2008, but it was a slightly half-hearted affair using just the outline but with the same amount of grille opening. Not this time, though, that massive cheese grater upfront is a bold and very strong statement, and sets this LX very much apart from its Land Cruiser cousin.

Also at the front are triple full LED headlights and sequential indicators. Whilst the Lexus ‘Predator’ look is obvious at the front, the rear gets a more subtle treatment, but the L-shaped taillights certainly give it a more distinct look. It’s said to be 6cm longer and for the first time 21-inch alloy wheels are available on the top spec Platinum edition.

Inside Lexus promises real materials in its new horizontal more car-like styling (very different from the Land Cruiser’s blocky and more upright appearance) including exotic Shimamoto wood trim. Lexus cars love buttons and there are tons in here, but also the now familiar mouse-type controller for the massive 12.3-inch multi-media display.
