The taught and surprisingly aggressive but still typical pretty Giulia has 50:50 weight distribution, short overhangs and a long wheelbase. Not too much detail is available on a car that will undoubtedly offer a full range of engines when it goes on sale – probably next early year – but some tantalising details of a the flagship are revealed in the press release.

Check out this video – particularly from 0:35

The top-of-the-range Quadrifoglio version will have a turbo V6 engine putting out 510bhp giving the car a 0-100kph time of just 3.9 seconds! It will be offered with rear or all-wheel drive – I rather hope the Middle East spec will have rear-drive only!

Handling should be good thanks to double-wishbone front suspension set-up and an ‘Alfalink’ multilink rear suspension, plus a new ‘semi-virtual’ steering axis. Plus there double-clutch Torque Vectoring system for the rear axle.

There’s active aerodynamics and even a new Alfa Romeo logo for the car designed by Robilant Associati.
