2015 Toyota Camry Gets Edgy
New Camry attempts to beat back the beige

The current Camry’s only been sale for two years but the North American car has just received an unexpected refresh. Unveiled at the 2014 New York Auto Show, the American Camry has been redesigned from stem to stern, with an Avalon-inspired nose, a Lexus-style spindle grille and a Mazda 6 butt.
Why the zippity-quick restyle? Blame CEO Akio Toyoda who has laid down the law and tasked the company with making more exciting automobiles. As a result, the new Camry sports more than 2,000 new parts both inside and out.
On the engineering front, the car is now 1.8-inches longer and slightly wider (0.4) inches which indicates there’s definitely been an attempt to beef up the Camry’s dynamics with better steering promised as well. In the US, the top-end XSE model will get stiffer shocks, springs and ESP changes in case you wanted to take your Camry autocrossing (don’t).
Drivetrains are carryover: as before there’s a 2.5-litre four and a 3.5-litre V6 available. Will this car come to the Middle East? No guarantee since we don’t get the US-only Corolla either but if you like it, tell your local Al Futtaim dealer – they’re definitely listening.
