2014 Chevrolet Silverado Reaper
Silverado Tuners Team Up To Build A Raptor Killer
By Imthishan Giado
Ford’s Raptor super trophy truck-replica has ruled the offroad roost since 2010…and now GM’s new Silverado is looking for some serious payback. Feast your eyes on the Reaper, a joint effort between Birmingham, Alabama-based Southern Comfort Automotive and Lingenfelter Performance Engineering.
The entire front end has been restyled to make one seriously angry looking pickup. As with the Blue oval truck, the Reaper features Fox Racing remote-reservoir suspension with three inches of lift over the factory vehicle. Not just a bolt-on kit either; LFE-SCA claim that the shocks have been specifically tuned for the Reaper, providing 9.2 inches of travel in the front and 11.2 in the rear; fender flares make sure the Reaper can contain all that rampant wheel travel. Wheel options include 17-inch beadlocks (as pictured) shod with General Grabber rubber, unlike the BFGs the Raptor uses.
Other body enhancements include a new front bumper with a beefy extra inches of ground clearance (with frame-mounted skid plate), tougher side steps for bouncing off rocks and a Rigid Industries full LED lighting system – six in total. For power, the Reaper turns to Chevy’s new 6.2-litre EcoTec3 420bhp V8, boosted to a meaty 550bhp courtesy of an optional TVS1900 supercharger tuned by Lingenfelter. Does it rumble? With a Corsa exhast out the back, you bet it does.
The best part is, we’ll be getting it here! Our sources tell us that local GM dealer Liberty will be offering the Reaper through its LMS arm, with the first cars already on their way here. Regional pricing has not been revealed yet; US prices will kick off at the AED200k mark with a fully optioned Reaper to cost in the region of AED240k.
Built by SCA, the Reaper will be available in the US from March 2014.

It’s a GM product so we all know that it’s going to be a POS.
It’s ugly to boot.
